The Bow Valley Athletic Club is no longer your dad's club. Through an uncompromising commitment to deliver an elevated member experience, expanded modern amenities, curated programming and services, and affiliations that cater to the lifestyle demands and aspirations of a diverse membership, we will provide our members with Calgary's Premier Downtown Social and Athletic Club.

However, we are much more than a club. The BVAC is a sanctuary for young professionals and seasoned executives alike to relax, recharge, compete, and connect on their terms.  We are a community that is an integral part of downtown Calgary's energy and revival.

Robin Bowen

Food & Beverage Director

His journey started in the hustle and bustle of kitchens and dining rooms. It all kicked off back at the '88 Calgary Olympics when he landed a gig as a young cook for the Stampede. That's when he knew he was hooked. Despite his dad's reservations, he was dead set on making a life out of being a chef. So, off he went.

After graduating from Sait in Culinary Arts, he dove headfirst into the world of kitchens. From Canadian Pacific Hotels and Resorts to Marriott, Atco Blue Flame Kitchen, and some of the top restaurants in our country, He worked his way up to Executive Chef. He has crisscrossed this beautiful country, from Ottawa to Toronto, Edmonton to Vancouver, and even the stunning Lodge at Kananaskis.

And now, his journey leads him to you! At the Bow Valley Athletic Club, he's stepping into the role of Director of Food & Beverage alongside Dean and Darren. Together, they're cooking up a vision of hospitality, food, and service that's all about our members.

As a culinary visionary, he approaches his craft holistically, not just about cooking but about service too. He handpicks a team who shares my passion for delivering exceptional experiences. Whether it's supporting local culinary programs or ensuring every guest feels valued, he believes there are no shortcuts to creating something truly special. It's all about pouring heart and soul into everything we do. Because when you take the time to care for every detail, you're not just feeding appetites, you're feeding souls.
